French Antique Table

I was recently given the opportunity to repair the leg of a marble top table from France.  It had belonged to my customers grandmother.  An unfortunate tangle with the vacuum cleaner resulted in a visit to my shop for repairs.

 

Here you can see the break as I dry fit the leg back on the table.

After using hide glue to repair the break, you can hardly tell there was ever an issue.

Here is the clue that tipped it’s place of origin.

Here is the table finished and upright.  The marble top is beautiful.
